Our Last Outdoor Show of the Year

We were at Monmouth again on Sunday. She Who Thinks She Must Be Obeyed was getting a bit spooked about pitching the tent in a waterlogged field but Beryl phoned on Thursday and said we wouldn't be camping so we had a very early start Sunday morning (5.30. It was really dark but the sky was full of stars).
I was very excited about seeing all my friends again, it's been about 2 months since the last show we went to. We've been doing lots of obedience (boring) training and self control exercises like having to lie still while the dust sucker is making noises but it seems to be paying off because I actually managed a 2 second wait on the start line! Now you might not think this is very impressive, but if you knew how exciting it is waiting to get at those jumps you might change your minds. And even more impressive I actually managed to wait (almost) quietly in the queue while everyone else went before me..(GRRRR)

Sooty playing tug of war with Sam

A couple of shots across the showground.

Sooty being naughty in the ring....

And being carried off in disgrace.
I can see some of my friends on the exercise area

Let's go and see them.

Hello Ellie let's play.
Here are some of the seeneries on the way home

Look at that big mountain.

We got home just as the sun was setting,

It a long day

Rock Climbing Dog!

We went for a walk on Aberporth beach now all those holiday makers have gone away and left it to us locals again.
What be this creature? He can't go away, he's got some legs missing I think.

The tide was out a long, long way and we got to a bit of the beach we can't usually get to, but I had to climb some really scary rocks to get there.
Is there anything under this seaweed?
 No.
There's a cave up here, come and see.
This bit of land fell down!
Let's go back before it all falls down, there's some stormy clouds out there.
That's better, I love getting my paws and furs wet. Someone's made a sand castle, but that's falling down aswell!
Those stormy clouds be getting nearer.
 We did more rock climbing,
The sea usually comes through here!
 Look what I've found.
It's a rock pool with lots of little creatures in, but they all go and hide when I stick my nose in to say hello.
It's a scary long way down here,
 and here,
Look the sea be coming back to rush between these rocks, we'd better go home quick.
These houses be sitting on top of that land that fell down, I hope they don't fall down too.

Going to Church!

It was another beautiful day today, a day to be taken full advantage of so She Who Thinks She Must Be Obeyed phoned Ann up and arranged to meet her and my friend Peter at Mwnt. We packed our lunch in a rucksack and put on our hiking boots (paws) and set off for a two and a half hour hike along the cliff path, Ann and Peter would arrive by car after we had had our lunch.
We arrived before Ann so while we were waiting we visited the 14th centuary sailors chapel of ease, Eglwys y Grog (Church of the Holy cross to you and me). It stands alone under Foel y Mwnt and is a famous tourist attraction. The font is 12th or 13th centuary and made of Preseli stone.

Ann still hadn't arrived when we had looked at the church so we wandered around for a bit. There's Cardigan Island over there.
We climbed to the top of Foel y Mwnt shown in the old postcard downloaded from wikipedia. Look how small the church looks now!
Looking down onto the beach.....scary! It's a LONG way down She Who Thinks She Must Be Obeyed felt a bit dizzy and decided to sit down for a minute!
It's a long way down that way as well.
I didn't feel dizzy but I sat down as well.
We could see all the way across Cardigan bay to Snowdonia. It's not a good sign when you can see the mountains of North Wales as clear as that, it means it's going to rain.
Peter arrived at last. 'Hello Peter come and see where I've been.'
And then the battery ran out on the camera thingy so we couldn't take any more piccies, but we went down to the beach and got our paws and furs wet and Peter did digging and I did swimming and then we went back to the carpark and had tea and cake and Ann took us home in the car.

Pawprints at Penbryn

Scottie came to visit this afternoon and took us to Penbryn in the car.
Here I am in Scottie's car, I'm being very good wearing my special seatbelt.

Her I am showing Scottie the way, so he doesn't get lost. It be dangerous to get lost in the woods.
 This way, hurry up!
 We're nearly there now.
 Throw the stick  Scottie.
 I got it!
 Catch me if you can.
 Action shot!
And here I am modeling my car safety harness.

Musical Mutt

Yes folks, it's true - I'm learning to play the drum!
I know it's early stages yet and it's not a real drum but when I get REALLY good She Who Thinks She Must Be Obeyed will buy me a bongo drum and I'll join up with Peter on his zylophone and we'll be the REAL DOG DOO DAH BAND.
Here I am practicing.

A Doggie Dilemma

When we were at Monmouth last time we met Sue from Gaz Graphics (gazgraphics@btinternet.com), she makes these really cool signs and other doggie things, anyway She Who Thinks She Must Be Obeyed sent her the photo of me doing my Bob Dylan impersonation and had this sign made so humans know to shut the gate after them in case I run after them and frighten them  or get in the way of a car or frighten sheep or something.
Here I am modeling the gear after we put the sign on the gate. It looks really cool man, all the kids love it.
Then, just as we'd put it on the gate, Sue sent another one because she didn't like the first one! Thank you Sue. We have a big problem now because we really like both of them, so we need your help please to decide which one should go on the front gate and which one should go on the back gate which hardly anyone uses.
And how did she know we have a wooden gate with red roses growing round it? Spooky.
She also made me my very own doggie tag with our mobile number on. I think it looks really smart.
